Roy Lichtenstein: the Art Institute of Chicago
For the largest retrospective of American icon Roy Lichtenstein yet, I created a behind-the-scenes video with curator James Rondeau. I concepted, shot, interviewed, and edited – soup to nuts, on this one. It took only a week, start to finish, and was perhaps the only video I ever produced where the client had no edits.
We also designed a corresponding exhibition microsite, for which I led concepting, UX, and creative direction.
A highlight of the experience was a series of interactive sliders, which allowed visitors to explore the relationship between the artist's early sketches and the final paintings.
A series of A/B tests helped us optimize the site for member acquisition – testing call-to-actions in the navigation, to understand the best way to encourage one-off exhibition audiences to become persistent supporters.
