Playworks
Playworks is a nonprofit helping kids build social and emotional skills through play. They've got 20 years of experience transforming the culture of elementary schools across the country through a better recess.
But while kids are the center of their mission, kids have never been the target audience – and their outdated brand and website gave the wrong impression. How should we talk to adults about play?
We updated the look and feel, staying true to the existing brand, but simplifying and professionalizing the palette and visual design. We also made space for their immersive and joyful photography, letting the recess experience speak for itself.
Our team rethought their website's structure and flow, to direct audiences like principals, teachers, funders, and partners to the right content.
And I wrote lots of copy – balancing inspiration with impact, conveying the seriousness of their purpose without losing a playful spirit.
